Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Robin! An animal-loving Irish man who has lived in bonnie Dundee for the last 22 years.
For as long as I can remember I have had an affinity for animals, and dogs in particular. I adore their kindness, playfulness and companionship.
I grew up in the Irish countryside and was always looking after our animals, come rain or shine.
I have had dogs around me all my life. From my very vague memories of our boxer Socks when I was very young. Then Toby, the world’s grumpiest wire haired fox terrier. Next came Trixie – a rescue black labrador cross who liked to raid the fridge and hide the wrappers under the rug.
When I was a teenager, out walking in the country, I heard a dog crying. I discovered a border collie pup in the middle of a raging burn. I helped her across and took her home. Initially (respecting her privacy) I called her Bob. The family wanted to call her Goofy – so from that day on she became Goofy Bob and joined our happy menagerie.
Also as a teenager, I had aspirations to become a vet and so spent some time volunteering with the National Canine Defence League (precursor of The Dogs Trust) where I was quickly put to work walking the more unruly residents of the shelter.
Since moving to Scotland, work and living commitments have meant that I do not have a dog of my own, but I have regularly looked after friend’s dogs and still visit the family pet Poppy (a black labrador) who is currently living the high life in Turkey.
After a recent career change, I wanted to combine my love of the outdoors and dogs, so decided to take the plunge and make Booped!
If you’d like any more info or would like a chat about your pets needs, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
I look forward to hearing from you and meeting your pup!
